Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy for Gavin Ingham Ltd & IAM10.

Who we are

Welcome to Gavin Ingham Ltd and the #IAM10 brand. We help CEOs and MDs who are looking for that extra edge in business and life, wanting to create a world-class organisation, or looking to build high-performing teams.

We are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our clients, customers, delegates, readers and visitors to www.gaviningham.com and www.iam10.com. In particular, we want you to know that we are not in the business of selling, renting or trading email lists with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes. We just don’t do that sort of thing. Never have. Never will.

As you know, we base our business on value, constantly adding value through our email newsletters, blogs, videos and other media…  but, just in case you wonder what information we do keep - the minimum necessary to add as much value as possible for you - in this Privacy Policy, we’ve provided lots of detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

Grab a coffee and read on. Frankly, it is all a bit boring but here it is...

Types of data we collect

Website cookies

Of course, there are cookies. As far as I am aware, all websites have cookies. Unfortunately, they are not chocolate ones. Like many (most? all?) websites, we use "cookie" technology to collect additional website usage data and to improve our Services. A cookie is a small data file that is transferred to your computer's hard disk. We may use both session cookies and persistent cookies to better understand how you interact with our Services, to monitor aggregate usage by our users and web traffic routing on our services, and to customize and improve our services.

We are also using 3rd party cookies. Examples of services we may be using are

  • Google Analytics (see below).

You can also deactivate specific 3rd party cookies through the following page managed by the EDAA (European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance): http://www.youronlinechoices.com

Most Internet browsers automatically accept cookies. You can instruct your browser, by changing its settings, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit. However, some services may not function properly if you disable cookies.

You can visit http://www.aboutcookies.org for more information on how to manage and remove cookies across a number of different internet browsers.

Google Analytics

When someone visits www.gaviningham.com, we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Mailing lists

As part of the registration process for our ad hoc e-newsletter, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about stuff you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don't rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

This newsletter is designed to add value for our readers and we consider all readers our clients and our friends. It is an inspiration-based newsletter so it is ad hoc, being sent out between one and four times per month; depending on when inspiration strikes. We also keep our readers informed of events, programmes and new products through the newsletter.

We use third-party providers, ConvertKit and Kajabi, to deliver our newsletters. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see ConvertKit and Kajabi privacy notices.

You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails.

Purchase Data

When you purchase a ticket (or tickets), programme, product or service through Gavin Ingham Ltd or through www.gaviningham.com, your name, address data, email and contact number will be stored in our Kajabi system, Eventbrite or Stripe. Please be assured that we do not share your personal details with any other company without your consent.

CRM

Our CRM is Nimble which is in the cloud. Nimble are fully GDPR compliant and manage hacks and breaches.

Our CRM consists of clients, ex clients, enquiries, seminar attendees and prospects.

No information will ever be sold, rented out or used for purposes other than running the business of Gavin Ingham Ltd and the ‘I am 10’ brand.

The amount of information held is commensurate with the client journey of the individual –

Clients. Data necessary to conduct the business only, transaction notes and purchase details. No personal details other than those necessary to conduct the business.

Ex clients. As above.

Enquiries. Details appertaining to how to contact them, notes from enquiries and conversations and any other data pertinent to the sale e.g. social media connections.

Seminar attendees. A few of these have been entered. They are technically “clients” but the intention is to gradually remove these unless they become prospects.

Prospects. Various details that are freely available on the web. Mostly contact details and social media. Also, information regarding any connections such as commenting on their LI articles etc. No more details than are necessary to meet legitimate business interests.
No data will be kept longer than is necessary for legitimate business interests – motivational speakers may be booked once per 5, 10 or even 15 years so it is reasonable that clients will expect to be approached many years after the event.

Most data will be held for legitimate business interests – this being a combination of maintaining the sales in Gavin Ingham Ltd and approaching people who would likely be interested in our services and would have a legitimate business interest. Any client, prospect or seminar attendee would also reasonably expect the approach.

Third parties

We do not share information with third parties unless we are running a joint event. On these occasions, we may share your name and contact details with them but this is rare and will be clearly identified at the time of your interaction with us.

Access to your personal information

You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to our data protection officer using any of the contact forms on our website.

Changes to this Privacy Notice

This notice is a living document and will be updated to maintain the safe and secure use of your data.
