If the tactic didn’t work so many would not use it.
That might sound like sense but it is not necessarily so. Just because people do something does not make it right.
- Plenty of people smoke or eat to excess or drink or do drugs. Does that make these things good for your health?
- Plenty of people surf their phones several times an hour. Does that make this a good use of your time?
- Plenty of people play around on social media, looking at memes and commenting on posts saying that they are prospecting. Does this mean that they are right?
Here’s the sad truth.
Average people do average things. Mediocre performers do mediocre things. Most people do stuff that makes them average. #IAM10Click To Tweet
You might not like it. You might want to argue the point. But that is the maths, I am afraid.
If you want to be exceptional. If you want to make lots of sales. If you want to be world-class – in work or at home – then you need to be prepared to work long and hard at what really works and at what exceptional people really do.
You have to be prepared to buck the trend, ditch the crowd and go for a walk in the woods by yourself.
Just because everybody else is doing something, does not mean that you should.
