		<description>There are many very effective methods for lead generation and as I always say - only using cold calling to generate leads for your business is as bad as never cold calling for new business.

Every individual and every business should have multiple ways of generating new leads and new opportunities. 

Networking is a powerful strategy for generating new leads, contacts and opportunities when undertaken in a professional and proven way. 

To compare cold calling to networking however is difficult as there are so many variables coming into play such as the abilities and attitudes of the salesperson themselves, the amount of time spent on the two activities, the strategies employed whilst undertaking the two activities, the quality of leads or the specific networking event etc etc.

In my mind, both have a viable place in anyone&#039;s new business generation plan.</description>

		<description>Thanks for all the good tips. I especially agree with your advice to stay calm and collected, as well as having a sense of humour! As you said, cold calls do not always go well. I was wondering, given that cold calls and networking are two of the most effective sales strategies, if you find networking to be as successful as cold calling?</description>
